Cherry Servers Expands Amsterdam Connectivity with ERA-IX

Cherry Servers Expands Amsterdam Connectivity with ERA-IX
Published on Jun 30, 2025 Updated on Nov 7, 2025

Cherry Servers is excited to announce that our Amsterdam data center is now directly connected to two major internet exchanges: ERA-IX and Speed-IX.

This marks a major milestone in our mission to deliver low-latency, high-efficiency cloud infrastructure for customers worldwide — and further strengthens our presence in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s most important interconnection hubs.

#Why does it matter?

Connecting to ERA-IX, one of the largest internet exchanges in the Netherlands, brings us closer to hundreds of networks — from leading cloud platforms to enterprise backbones and content providers. By peering directly at ERA-IX, we’re able to:

  • Reduce latency for traffic exchanged with member networks;
  • Offload traffic from global transit providers, improving routing efficiency;
  • Increase network resilience through diverse, direct paths;

Improve inter-validator latency for sensitive workloads like blockchain infrastructure (e.g., Solana validators).

ERA-IX is a major peering point for performance-focused networks, and joining it brings us another step closer to making Cherry’s network the best in the Netherlands,” said Vaidas Rutkauskas, CEO of Cherry Servers.

#Impact on Solana Validator Ecosystem

One immediate win? Blockchain performance. Our team has already measured 1.1ms latency to Jito block engine servers hosted in Amsterdam. This enhancement translates to faster communication between Cherry-hosted validators and other critical nodes, supporting our customers running high-performance Solana infrastructure.

#What’s Next?

These IX connections are part of Cherry Servers’ broader investment in network growth. Our goal is to deliver under-50ms latency to most of the world, and becoming part of peering ecosystems like ERA-IX and Speed-IX is a major part of making that vision reality.
